Transforming an idea into a market-ready trading platform The client is an early-stage company engaged in derivatives trading. They had a clear vision but no existing product. Building a full-fledged derivatives trading platform, without losing speed to market, was a challenge.

We carried out a structured discovery phase to define business goals and technical priorities. Detailed process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria shaped a clear roadmap from day one, enabling an accelerated build cycle.

Challenges

Managing volatility and market risk Derivatives trading carries inherent risks owing to volatile asset values and macroeconomic factors. The platform needed to handle these risks intelligently to inform better decision-making.

Solutions

We designed the matching logic to display real-time quotations and market data, enabling better decision-making. The custom trading software is designed to match two types of trades. The client server will match the trades and alert an internal trader to the match. This match will then be manually sent to an exchange, to be traded.

Challenges

Achieving real-time order visibility across all terminals. Orders had to be visible across all terminals. The maximum allowable latency from the time an order is entered by a customer to the time it is visible to all terminals is 0.25 seconds. Any lag could result in incorrect matches or missed trading opportunities.

Solutions

We built a low-latency event-driven architecture that propagated order updates to all terminals in real time. Achieved 0.25-second latency under load, meeting the client's critical requirements.

Challenges

Ensuring data security over the open internet Since large sums of money are transacted based on the data, the system required absolute data security. This was needed to prevent data corruption and unauthorized software decompilation.

Solutions

We implemented encryption protocols for data in transit, zero-corruption transmission techniques for financial data integrity, and anti-decompilation protections to prevent unauthorized access to server data.
